Christians must learn to meditate, but not like the pagans. There’s a massive difference between the two.
The Church has never had a monopoly on self-righteousness. A person can be religious and self-righteous, and a person can be completely pagan and self-righteous. In today’s culture, we have far more of the latter.
We are blessed when we are persecuted for doing good. We are blessed when we are reviled for righteousness sake. But we are NOT blessed if we are fools, merely experiencing the natural consequences of being a jerk. Discernment and spiritual maturity is required to know the difference.
