“Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.” (Hebrews 2:14-15 ESV)
This one is a “gospel banger,” and Pastor Doug Wilson deserves some credit.
Scripture commands us to honor our father and mother. A major component of this is caring for them as they die.
No one reaches a point of sinless perfection in this life. In the same way, no one perfectly repents in this life. If you could repent perfectly, you would live perfectly. So how much repentance is necessary to prove that a person is saved?
Slavery can come by only having one option. However, having limitless options without the ability to say no, can be even more enslaving.
