God certainly speaks to mankind through natural revelation. In other words, God speaks by what he has made. However, natural revelation, while sufficient to condemn mankind, is still missing a few things.
When the Prophet Nathan confronts David, he tells him a parable. The prophet uses shrewdness in order to cause King David to recognize the true severity of his sin and pronounce judgment upon himself.
Hearing without faith will always lack the fruit of faith – Obedience.
There are not two separate tracks of God’s redemptive work in the world: one for Israel and another for Gentiles. God divorced Israel according to the flesh. There is now only one true Israel in accordance with the promise.
It is finished. Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
The church needs Scripture, but it also needs an exposition of Scripture. We need this exposition of Scripture in both our preaching and our singing. The songs of the church must not merely be theologically TRUE, they must also be theologically ROBUST. *Don’t mind the sweat. Pastor Joel’s air conditioning went out, and he was preaching up a storm.
