In this episode of Theology Applied, Dr. Joe Boot reveals the false doctrines that have caused Christians to forfeit so much ground in culture/politics. Pastor Joel Webbon and Dr. Joe Boot thoroughly explain the pitfalls of Westminster Escondido’s Two-Kingdom Theology and The Gospel Coalition’s Social Justice. Neither of these approaches to culture/politics are actually biblical. Dr. Boot further makes his case for proper Christian involvement in culture/politics by distinguishing the Mission of the Church from the Mission of individual Christians.
#2 AMERICAN EVANGELICALISM | HOW IT BROKE & HOW TO FIX IT (PART 2)
For the last few decades, American Evangelicalism has been obsessed with all that is BIG, FAST, FLASHY, and FAMOUS. In contrast, 2 Timothy 2:2 says, “What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” So Paul entrusted certain things to Timothy; Timothy was charged to entrust these things to faithful men; and those men needed to be able to entrust (teach) these things to others. Ministry is about multiplication, and therefore, faithful ministers must think in terms of multiple generations. In other words, faithful ministry is often slow.
#3 HOW TO RESPOND TO SLANDEROUS CHARGES OF LEGALISM
On the whole, the problem with American Evangelicals is not legalism, it’s antinomianism. Regardless, most American Evangelicals are far more concerned with what they perceive to be legalism, than actual lawlessness. Christians, therefore, must be properly equipped to respond to slanderous charges of being legalistic.

Unfortunately, 2021 did not provide the relief that many were hoping for. Instead of the promised return to normalcy, tyranny and deception have become commonplace. From vaccine mandates to record-high inflation, our current political elites have made it abundantly clear that they have no concern for the public. And yet, God’s goodness has continued to shine through. More and more people are waking up to reality and joining the fight for liberty and truth.
However, there still appears to be a problem. On the one hand, there are Evangelicals who claim to love the Gospel, while consistently echoing the talking points of neo-Marxists. And on the other hand, there are Conservatives that champion many Christian values, while rejecting Christ as the source of all that is good. Our world desperately needs Christians who believe the whole Bible and are committed to applying it to every area of life. From family to church, and culture to politics, we must hold fast to the sufficiency of Scripture.
This is our goal: To equip Christians with a thoroughly biblical worldview, and teach them to apply it to every area of life.
