Right Response Ministries has produced hundreds of high-quality videos/podcasts. So for your convenience, every Friday we provide a list of our top five videos for the week. Each of these videos are personally selected by Pastor Joel Webbon. He has insisted that we not merely highlight our most popular content, but the content that he believes is most vital for Christians to be convicted, emboldened, and encouraged. May God use this content to bless you richly.
#1 SNL & EVANGELLYFISH | TWO PEAS IN A POD
Saturday Night Live recently came out with a skit that admits how progressives got virtually everything wrong in their response to Covid-19. The problem is that SNL came out with this skit 2 years after it would have actually been relevant. Sadly, many evangelical pastors have done the exact same thing.
#2 HOW DO CHRISTIANS BUILD “IN FAITH”?
“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain...” Psalm 127:1 ESV Just as God works through covenants, so must we. Before beginning a work, we must count the cost and resolve to finish it. The work of sanctifying the self begins with conversion and a covenant to Christ in baptism. The work of building a home begins with marriage and a covenant to our spouse in a wedding ceremony. The work of building the church begins with church membership and a covenant to the other members of the church. And even the work of building society often begins with a trade and some form of legal contract. All lasting covenants have Christ as their foundation. However, a man cannot select his own preferred “Christ,” a “pseudo-Christ.” Rather, he must have the Christ of the Bible. In addition to having the “right” Christ, a man must have the “whole” Christ. You cannot choose for yourself certain “portions” of Christ, while discarding others that offend your sensibilities. To avoid building in vain, we must have the right Christ and the whole Christ as our one and only foundation. And if our building is to endure, we must have Christ above and Christ below. We must build “upon” Christ, with faith in his Gospel and obedience to his Law. And we must build “to” Christ, with the earnest desire for his glory and fame. In other words, to have Christ as the foundation of our building is to build in faith. And to build in faith is to build with a reliance upon Christ's grace and a desire for Christ's glory.
#3 POSTMILLENNIALISM | REJECTING DISPENSATIONALISM | WITH GARY DEMAR
In this episode of Theology Applied, Gary DeMar, Founder of American Vision, makes a biblical case for Postmillennialism and explains why Christians should reject Dispensationalism as unbiblical.
#4 A BUNCH OF PASTORS HAVE BEEN WITHHOLDING THE LORD’S SUPPER FROM THEIR CONGREGATIONS!
Does a Pastor actually possess the spiritual authority to shut down his church? How about withholding the Lord’s Supper from his congregation because he’s a “germaphobe”? Tyranny certainly exists in our civil government, but how does the Bible define “pastoral tyranny” in the church?
#5 CAN YOU LOSE YOUR SALVATION? | HEBREWS 2:1-4
The “message declared by angels [which] proved to be reliable” was the Law of God, namely, the Ten Commandments. According to Deuteronomy 33:5, that was the day when God declared that he was “King in Jeshurun.” So God delivered his Law and announced his Kingship through Moses and angels. But now God has delivered not only his Law but his Gospel, announced not only that he is King but also Savior, and he has done all this not merely through Moses and the angels (who are servants in God's house), but through Jesus (who is the Son and rightful heir of all God's promises). If man's rejection of the Law delivered through mere servants “received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect” the Gospel delivered through God's only begotten Son?
A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM PASTOR JOEL WEBBON
Unfortunately, 2021 did not provide the relief that many were hoping for. Instead of the promised return to normalcy, tyranny and deception have become commonplace. From vaccine mandates to record-high inflation, our current political elites have made it abundantly clear that they have no concern for the public. And yet, God’s goodness has continued to shine through. More and more people are waking up to reality and joining the fight for liberty and truth.
However, there still appears to be a problem. On the one hand, there are Evangelicals who claim to love the Gospel, while consistently echoing the talking points of neo-Marxists. And on the other hand, there are Conservatives that champion many Christian values, while rejecting Christ as the source of all that is good. Our world desperately needs Christians who believe the whole Bible and are committed to applying it to every area of life. From family to church, and culture to politics, we must hold fast to the sufficiency of Scripture.
This is our goal: To equip Christians with a thoroughly biblical worldview, and teach them to apply it to every area of life.
To this end, we humbly ask that you would prayerfully consider partnering with Right Response Ministries. Right Response Ministries is seeking to continue to be a voice of reason in a world that has gone mad, but we cannot accomplish this without your help.
